The full form of UPA is the United Progressive Alliance (UPA). It is one of the biggest coalitions of the political parties to form government in the central region. Moreover, the UPA was the ruling party of INDIA from 2004 to 2014. The party was under the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh. However, Sonia Gandhi was the chief of UPA. The party didn’t have enough numbers to gain the majority. However, after forming a government, with several political parties, it became the ruling part of India. The UPA government had many haters and many supporters but their only vision was the growth of India.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Janata Dal (Secular), Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), etc are some of the connected parties of the UPA. Moreover, Congress had the highest turnout and rule without any problem in India. The party lost to BJP or Bharatiya Janta Party in the 2004 elections after serving for 10 years. Mr. Narenda Modi became the new prime minister of India.
Since the year 2020, UPA made more parties join UPA and the alliance was strengthened. In 2021 expectations were high that UPA would win the elections but unfortunately, UPA lost the Bihar election. Although UPA didn’t win the election but it helped to gain the number of MLA.

In the year 2014, it was seen that UPA performed the worst as UPA lost badly and didn’t get any of the seats. The JKNC party left UPA. The Socialist Janata (Democratic) merged with Janata Dal (United) and left UPA.
