The full form of RTA is Renal Tubular Acidosis. RTA is said to be a Medical condition that leads to the formation of acid in the body due to the failure of Kidneys. This happens due to no proper acidification process in the Urine. There are various types of RTA’s that come with different symptoms and measures. The people suffering from low urinary acidification in the Urine are defined as RTA.
RTA is known as Renal Tubular Acidosis. It is said to be a Medical disorder that leads to the creation of acid in the body due to the failure of Kidneys. This occurs due to no proper acidification process in the Urine. Acidosis is a term that is used to the reason of excess formation of acid that leads to lower PH levels
Furthermore, when the blood gets filtered from the kidney to Renal physiology, that particular amount of filtrate passes on through the Nephron tubules. This in turn especially allows the exchange of Salt equivalents, Acid exchange, etc wherein before it gets dried out in the Bladder as Urine. From this Medical condition of RTA, the acidosis occurs due to the failure of reabsorbing the bicarbonate ions from the filtrate in an earlier stage. In another way, if there is less secretion of Hydrogen ions in the Nephron tubules, this happens. In general, Acidosis is a term that is used to cause the excess formation of acid that leads to lower PH levels. Especially if blood PH goes below normal, it is defined as Acidemia. Based on different conditions, the terms differ.
Indications of distal renal tubular acidosis -:
*Confusion or decreased alertness.
*Fatigue.
*Impaired growth in children.
*Increased breathing rate.
*Kidney stones.
*Nephrocalcinosis “too much calcium deposited in the kidneys”
*Osteomalacia “softening of the bones”
*Muscle weakness.

Renal Tubular Acidosis (RTA) is usually asymptomatic. RTA is usually inherited in an autosomal dominant pattern. RTA can affect a child’s growth, cause kidney stones, and other problems like bone or kidney disease. There are four types of RTA namely Type 1, Type 2, Type 3, and Type 4.
What is Type 1 and Type 2 RTA?
Type 1 RTA is also called distal RTA. If the problem is at the end or distal part of the tubules, it is a Type 1 RTA. Type 2 RTA is called proximal RTA. If there is a problem at the beginning or proximal part of the tubules, it is a Type 2 RTA.
