In general, these practitioners work for 2-3 years in various hospital departments prior to entering into specialist training. The stage of Graduate medical education is where the residency or Postgraduate training occurs. In other words, these persons are meant to be a dentist, veterinarian(who has the degree-MD, DMD, DVM, DPM, MB, BDS, BMed). Additionally, the persons would be working or practicing Medicine in a clinic or the hospital. However, these people would be working under the supervision of a senior practitioner specifically registered as a consultant in the relevant specialty. The main point to be noted is this training should be completed post which to practice medicine, the Unrestricted license can be brought. Therefore, the persons involved in this training are known as residents, House officers, or even trainees. After completion of this training, based on the specialty chosen, there will be a separate training.
Resident Medical Officer “RMO” is a Medical Officer who has achieved full registration and who has finished the equivalent of at least one year of full-time experience as clinical. and Senior Resident Medical Officer “SRMO” is a Medical Officer in their post-graduate (it can be 5th or 6th post-graduate) year of experience as clinical.
RMO can earn ranging from Rs 10 lakhs per year to Rs 16 lakhs per year. The responsibilities of RMO include supervising the daily clinical management of all patients and attending to all post operative patients on the day of operation and every day following and answering calls from the ward relating to patient care.
