The full form of ARDS is Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. The main criteria of this ARDS are is it infects people who have severe injuries or are seriously ill from before. It is also important to know how it gets affected by the Human body. There would be a fluid formation inside the small alveoli in the lungs. This is, in turn, minimizes enough supply of air inside which means a sufficient amount of oxygen would not be supplied.
ARDS, also known as respiratory distress syndrome, occurs when the fluids start building up in tiny air elastic sacs in the lungs. Mainly this fluid keeps the lungs from filling out proper oxygen, which means that less air reaches the body’s bloodstream. They affect the body function and health of the person. ARDS can occur in people who are having significant injuries or shortness of breathing. A person shows symptoms of ARDS within a few hours or a day.
The ARDS disease symptoms are breathing problems within a few hours of Injury or becoming critically ill. Added to it, the death rate of ARDS is higher. The death rate depends on the stage of the illness and the age factor too. However, if the people survive, the damage to the lungs falls into place. The major symptoms of this disease are severe Breathing problems, extreme tiredness and low blood pressure. Therefore, most of the patients affected would be admitted in the Intensive care unit and the percentage of death is around 30%-40%. And on the other way, especially people who survive have normal functioning of lungs after 6-12 months of the surgery.
It is a severe lung condition in which lungs become severely inflamed and fluid fills up in the tiny, elastic air sacs (alveoli) in the lungs. It may occur due to severe pulmonary injury or the infection. In the beginning, it manifests as dyspnea, tachypnea, or hypoxemia then over the time envolves in respiratory failure.
People may experience respiratory distress, fast breathing, shortness of breath, or rapid breathing, blue skin from poor circulation, coughing, high carbon dioxide levels in the blood, low oxygen in the body or fever, muscle weakness, etc. Three phases of ARDS are exudative, proliferative, and fibrotic.
