Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is the full form of IBPS which was founded in 1984 and earlier it was known as Personnel Selection Services (PSS). The objective of this organization is to hire proficient candidates for smooth banking operations. IBPS is an autonomous body to conduct competitive exams for clerical and officers post in the banking sector. IBPS is under the governance of RBI, MoF, IIT-M, IIBF, NIBM, IBA, and Public sector banks.
IBPS means Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. Generally, the objective of this institute is to hire skillful candidates for smooth finance operations. The Initial Exam is scheduled in the months between October -to December, and the candidates must qualify for all three stages of exams for the selection.

Exam Pattern:
The IBPS exam is in three stages namely:
Preliminary Exam, Mains Exams, and finally by the interview process.
Important Dates:
The preliminary exam is scheduled in the months between October -to December and mains in the months between November to January. and then followed by the interview finally.
It is necessary for the candidates to qualify for all three stages of exams for the selection. The mode of exams is online and students need to pass all three stages with minimum cut-off marks of need. There is also negative marking for the wrong answers. The final score is on the basis of the cumulative score of the mains and interview. After the selection, the candidates are allowed to choose the bank of their desire to join.

The basic salary is INR 19,000. The candidate must have a graduation degree from a recognized university. As we all know the exam is basically divided into three categories: Prelims, Mains and Interview. The time duration for Prelim is 60 minutes and for mains is 3 hours and 30 minutes. IBPS Clerk Exam is considered very easy to pass. It consists of prelims, mains, and a language efficiency test.
