The full form of SSC is Staff Selection Commission. This commission is there to conduct examinations for various postings available in the Government of India. The staff selection commission every year conducts exams to recruit for Group C that is Nontechnical and Group B which is Non-Gazetted-technical and Nontechnical. Also, SSC does conduct various other examinations for different grades of examination. The examinations are Promotions from group D to LDC Grade, from LDC to UDC Grade, and as well as from Stenographer grade D to Grade C stenographers.

However, the basic typewriting tests in English and Hindi is a mandate. The SSC has presence of 9 regional and sub-regional offices that is located in Allahabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Guwahati, Kolkata, and Mumbai, New Delhi. And sub-regional offices at Chandigarh and Raipur. However, there are specific age limits fixed for different posts. These all to be confirmed and published in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar. In general, the age limit is around 18-27 years. However, there is a concession in the upper age for SC/ST that is 5 years. And for OBC’s, it is 3 years and for physically handicapped, it is 10 years. And for widows, divorced and judicially separated, the age criteria is 35 years of Unreserved category. And for SC/ST, age is 40 years and 38 years for OBC.
