INDIAN POLICE SERVICE

Introduction

In 1950, the Indian constitution was written. IPS was constituted under Article 312. IPS was founded in 1948. It also consists of the three AIS.

Eligibility

You have appeared for the UPSC exam in the age group 21-32 years. For SC/ ST/ OBC candidates there is age relaxation. They provide six attempts for unreserved and EWS.

Roles

 IPS officers maintain the criminal cases.  IPS officers have to lead and command the IB, CBI, and so on.  IPS gives security to important people.

Height Requirement

 165 cm height is required for the male candidates.  150 cm height is required for the female candidates.  5 cm height relaxation is provided to the ST candidates.

Chest requirement

 84 cm chest size is required for the male candidates.  79 cm chest size is required for the female candidates.  the 5 cm chest size will expand by the candidates.

Examination

UPSC conducts the exam for 24 government services such as IAS, IPS, IRS, etc. UPSC conducts exam in three stages:  First stage is a preliminary exam in objective type.  Second stage is the main exam in written type.  Third stage it conducts the interview.

Salary

The salary of IPS includes Allowances, DA, etc. Salary will rise after the promotions. The promotion is provided on the basis of Annual Performance Appraisal Reports etc.
